Brigit from Swiss HRmed very purposefully found the right hospital for me according to my wishes, and it was a perfect fit right away!

My name is Laura, I am 26 years old. I currently work as a nurse in a rehabilitation clinic in Rheinfelden. I live in Basel, which is about 15 minutes by train from Rheinfelden.
I trained as a nursing specialist (HBO-V) in Groningen. The training lasted a total of four years. During these four years, I completed three six-month internships in different areas of healthcare.
I have worked or done internships in various facilities in the Netherlands - in hospitals, in geriatric care and in forensic psychiatry. The work pressure always depends on the patients you are caring for at any given time. I think it's comparable in Switzerland to the Netherlands. However, I have noticed that there are more staff on the ward in Switzerland, which makes the work a little easier.
During my training in the Netherlands, I acquired a lot of specialist knowledge in the field of care. When I sometimes get stuck due to the language barrier (Swiss German), this knowledge often helps me. Thanks to my diverse experience in various areas of healthcare, my specialist knowledge is highly valued here.
I found Swiss HRmed through a Google search when I was looking for a company that could help me relocate to Switzerland. I was looking for someone who could help me find a job in or around Basel as my partner was already living here. Thanks to the personal and transparent support of Esmee from Swiss HRmed, I found a job and was finally able to move in with my partner.
I've learned a lot of new things and improved my German skills considerably. An added bonus is that I also understand Swiss German better and better. It's a nice experience to add to my CV.

I was very well received at work. I said right from the start that the German language wasn't easy for me yet, and this was dealt with understandingly. There are many different nationalities at my workplace, so you don't feel like an outsider. My partner was already living here, and as I had been visiting her regularly in Switzerland for 2.5 years, I had already built up a small social network. The Swiss are rather reserved when it comes to social contacts, but in the city of Basel there are many expats and also locals who are open to new social contacts.
My future plans are still uncertain. My partner is from Venezuela, I'm from the Netherlands, and we don't yet know what the future holds. At the moment, we are very happy with our work and our life in Switzerland and have no plans to leave in the near future.

The language concept is a fascinating and inspiring experience for me, both in terms of learning the language and discovering new places and people.

I wish I had found a program like this a few years ago, because it's easier to learn a language from scratch.
