Interview Julio Language Concept

My name is Julio Cesar Lopez Gauebca and I am originally from Venezuela, but I have spent most of my life in Almería, Spain. There I completed my training as a specialist in radiology (Bachelor). I speak Spanish, English and have also learned German.

What made you decide to start a career in Switzerland and how did you come across the Lingua language concept from Swiss HRmed?

I was looking for new professional opportunities outside Spain and came across a job advertisement on the internet - I think it was on LinkedIn. I've always wanted to work in another country and get to know a new culture. I also have a friend who has been working in Zurich for a year. He told me that Switzerland is a great country to work and live in. That's why I decided to take this opportunity.

I think the Lingua language concept is a very good way to learn German. Of course it's a challenge, but it's definitely worth it. I can definitely recommend it to others.

Why did you apply for the language concept and how did your application process go?

The application process was very positive overall. I learned the German language in Lindau, Germany. The school was really good and I learned a lot. The teachers there did a great job. So I am very happy with my decision.

The language concept program is a process with several phases. You are currently following the language course in Germany. Can you describe where you live, what a course day looks like and what you do in your free time?

Lindau is a small town on Lake Constance surrounded by beautiful nature. As I really appreciate nature, I went on lots of hikes and excursions there. My lessons started every day at 9:00 am and went on until 12:30 pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I had a longer break, then my lessons continued until 3:30 pm. In my free time, I went for long walks to relieve the stress. In the evenings, I repeated what I had learned in class and did extra study. At the weekend, the school organized various activities, which I always took part in.

What do you think of the Lingua language concept so far and why would you recommend it or not?

I think the Lingua language concept is a very good way to learn German. Of course it's a challenge, but it's definitely worth it. I can definitely recommend it to others.

When did you start in Switzerland and what are your plans now?

I took my B2 German exam on October 11 and flew back to Spain on October 12. I started my job in Zurich on November 1, 2024. After six months of intensive learning, I was looking forward to finally working in Switzerland and taking on this new challenge. My plan is to stay in Switzerland for many years and gain valuable professional experience there.
