Follow-up interview Bartosz

Bartosz, how are you and where are you at the moment?

Thank you very much, I'm doing really well! I've settled in well in Switzerland. I've been working in a pharmacy in Biberist for three weeks and live in Solothurn. The area here is beautiful and I really enjoy the nature and the peace and quiet. It's a big difference to what I'm used to in Poland, but I feel at home here.

How was your start in Switzerland?

The beginning was not easy. The move was a big challenge, especially because I had to leave my friends and family behind. That really affected me emotionally. The language barrier was also a hurdle, especially in the first few days. But I have to say that the team at the pharmacy is incredibly friendly and helpful. They supported me right from the start and made me feel welcome. That really helped me to settle in more quickly.

What does the coming period look like in professional and personal terms?

Professionally, I will be starting my FPH specialization in a few months. I'm really looking forward to it, as it's an important step for my career in Switzerland. Privately, I want to get to know Switzerland even better. The landscape here is breathtaking and I plan to spend a lot of time in the mountains - whether it's hiking or cycling. I also want to explore the different regions and cities to learn more about the country's culture and history.

It's an intensive process, but it's also very rewarding because you realize how you can communicate better and better.

What experiences have you had with learning German along the way?

Learning German was certainly one of the biggest challenges, but it was also a very rewarding experience. I had a lot of discipline to keep learning, and of course there were also moments of frustration. But thanks to the constant contact with the language, both at language school and in everyday life, I made rapid progress. It's an intensive process, but it's also very rewarding because you realize how you can communicate better and better.

What feedback do you have for the Lingua language concept?

In my opinion, the Lingua language concept is particularly suitable for people who are really motivated and willing to learn a lot on their own. It requires a lot of initiative, but the program offers many resources. Of course, there is always room for improvement. But overall I am satisfied because it has given me the opportunity to work in Switzerland and integrate here.
